Repacking of relief goods in ADMU, Katipunan, Quezon City
Last Saturday (Nov. 16, 2013), me and my family went to Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) in Katipunan, Quezon City right after going to mass - I left the convention early - to volunteer in helping repack the relief goods for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan in Tacloban, Visayas. It was a wonderful experience! We donated clothes but for me it wasn’t enough because the clothes were only few compared to our past donations. They actually needed a lot of people and we were surprised that there are a lot of volunteers, like us - I even saw co-Thomasians! Based on their shirts, that is XD We went to the main court where they held their relief goods operations. There were huge trucks assigned to deliver the goods, cranes to carry the goods to the trucks. We were assigned (by group) to put the packed goods to the sacks for delivery. A bag of rice was supposed to be about 6 kilos but some were below 6 kilos and I felt sad for people who will receive those underweight bag of rice :( After an hour of carrying the bag of goods to the sacks, ADMU was able to accomplish 78,000 sacks of goods (we didn’t began at 0).
Dirty hand~ o w o
Me and my aunt~ Didn’t had time to remove my makeup o A o Yay for Iwatobi shirt <3
Then we went to another court because a teacher (I think?) asked us to help because they have a deadline to catch up to.
Didn’t took much photo here because we were busy. I was assigned to be at the rice station - a pail with a sack must contain 12 kilos of rice; 1 bag of rice is equal to 6 kilos.
My body’s still aching as of now but it was totally worth it. Being a volunteer here made me feel that we really can work together as one nation. If you can’t seem to donate any belongings of yours, please do volunteer in helping, instead - your time and strength are donated to the ones in need. What’s great about this is that YOU DON’T NEED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO VOLUNTEER unlike the ones in ABS-CBN or GMA - my mom was supposed to schedule us an appointment but they told us that we’ll be assigned on DECEMBER. We disagreed because we don’t want to just wait and do nothing.
ADMU still needs help. Just go in there, fall in line and then you’re good!
Otaku Expo Reload 2013
Commuted again all the way to SMX with my classmates! My dad’s testing my independence skills - and to save up gas. Haha. Anyway, this was pretty much exhausting. We went there early for the enlisting in the Karaoke Contest - yes, I joined because my classmates convinced me to. Anyway, the convention was fine; the hall was too small, the artists were on the side of the hall, the sellers that has a booth were having trouble with interested customers because some stands were being pushed or nearly falling down. I remember me and my classmate going around the hall to look for things to buy then we found out that the reason there was traffic on this certain space was because of a couple. I mean, seriously? = A = Moving on~ I took a long time in the comfort room since there were a few people inside and I wanted a more proper makeup compared last CosMania. And there were elder women asking to take a photo, too, and one of them asked me to pose like Inori and then she copied me. HAHA, so cute.
Then my classmate who accompanied me and waited for me in the comfort room asked me to wait for the Eska cosplayer. I said “Yes,” simply because I’m a fan of the twin - too bad she doesn’t have her partner with her Q 3 Q
Our classmate, Karen, went, too! Her dress is so lovely! Them details *U* (Too bad I didn’t took a whole body photo)
(L-R) me, Michael, onii-san Gianne, derpy Drei, Karen, and Michelle
Sab and her little sister Sofie - we both like Haruka from “Free!” o w o
Onii-san took a selfie on my cam
For the team! Sab bought me the shirt, an advance birthday gift. I used to tell that I will never wear yellow or orange but this is an excuse. Haha. My first yellow shirt! (UST shirts are excluded because it was required Q 3 Q )
Onii-san is not pleased with our fandom XD
My good friend kuya Steven came! My cheeks hurt because he kept on pinching it. Derp. He usually cosplay Sora, by the way :D
My hyper friend Martin! I think it’s his first time at conventions :3
Saw ate Akira~ Didn’t introduced myself because she might not recognize me. Haha
I am a happy McDonald’s model. HAHA (grabbed from Drei)
You have no idea how derp I am in real life. I wear makeup to make myself look pretty, but end up looking ugly on photos with my friends. Huehuehue
Bought a Hello Kitty shirt from Gyaru Shoppe, and Drei bought me an advance birthday gift! Yay for Haruka! I plan to collect all of the shirts *U* I can’t wait to wear them!
If you guys want to check out my video in the karaoke contest, click here! I hope you can view it since it’s uploaded at my page :3 Sayonara~
Latest update on Asianvogue Shop (PH online shop)
For my first post, click here.
As stated from my first post, I ordered mine last January. Her latest update for me was last Oct. 31, stating that she was able to send the refund (Php515) last Thursday (Oct 17) but she didn’t update me about that within that week. Me & my mom went to Divisoria last Oct 20, she checked the balance of her card, and was surprised that there’s this certain amount of money on it because as far as she can remember, there was only about Php100-200 left due to my school needs. Currently, I’m flooding her about the deposit slip or receipt of her deposit.
Hoping for everyone to get their refunds, too.
I’ve always been interested in Asian Vogue because I’ve encountered the shop being mentioned and featured by some of the bloggers that I follow like Tricia Gosingtian and Tin Iglesias. Checking the online shop on Multiply (when it was still working), I was able to find something that I really liked — a pair of creepers. It was my very first time purchase a pair of shoes online so I really felt iffy but knowing that a lot of prominent bloggers trust and feature AsianVogue, the idea of buying online from a well-known online shop put me at ease. Little did I know that I was going to regret this decision.
